Both the interior and exterior of Intersport Ljubljana have been completely renovated. SemperGreenwall System was used for part of the new façade. Due to the location in the heart of a shopping district and several ongoing renovation works on site, we had to carefully plan the logistics and installation steps. Another challenge was the custom-shaped green wall, which meant that the supporting steel structure had to be thoroughly planned and mounted ahead of the green wall installation
In combination with temperature and moisture sensors the advanced web-enabled system facilitates the monitoring of several green wall parameters – green panel moisture, air temperature, water pressure, and water and nutrition level as well internet connectivity. This way the most important information is always at hand thanks to a special mobile application
SemperGreenwall Systeml is an instant green wall system; the panels are pre-grown in a glasshouse for about four months. The growing media used in the green wall is rock mineral, as a light and inert substrate, where nutrient dosing is easier to regulate and the environment is more controlled than in conventional soil substrate mixtures; it is a pH-neutral substrate (7). The rock mineral growing media boasts an enormous water retention capacity (up to 90% of volume). The roots have plenty of space in our growing media, making it even more suitable for growing plants in the long term.
